The aim of the project in general is to enrich the existing art and social-cultural scene in Bratislava, to interconnect the alternative and interactive approach to the cultural reality. The project KulturFabrik is a complex of cultural and social activities that, joined together, create a complex organism. In this space, the spectator is not the spectator anymore, as he himself becomes a participant of the cultural action.
The project especially supports young authors (whose chance to present their work is minimal) but naturally counts also with the known "names", creative personalities who are important for inspiration and stimulation.

An important fact is the openness of the project. The aim is not to create an isolated unit but to give a chance to involve as many people as possible to the activities of KulturFabrik, to give an opportunity to those who want to engage themselves in a creative way.

The area where KulturFabrik is planned will be used in a multifunctional way, which can be utilized in many ways (e.g. small/chamber concerts of the actual "classical" music in the space for cinema, workshops or professional seminars in the ateliers and space for expositions (exhibitions?), the space for extensive music production as the rehearsal room for young musicians and DJs).
The presentations of artists will not be just the only task, as the authors will have a possibility to work on their pieces and at the same time to communicate in an interdisciplinary way in the KulturFabrik

In the social section, the project counts with various forms of educational and relaxation activities with the aim of active participation and rise of cultural level, as well as social opportunities for the widest possible range of interested citizens. This part of the project fills also the function of a kind of restful time-pass, so that the people who have come to watch a movie or to take part in a seminar, would not have to leave the space, but could participate in one of the mentioned alternatives and then return to one of the programs again.

Homeless people and other groups of disadvantaged people (for example people with a mental or physical handicap) will have a chance to be engaged as the personnel of KulturFabrik. KulturFabrik can be their sheltered workshop and their space for self-realization. Apart from this, specialised activities will be held for them here too.

The project also includes sport and other activities (shuns neither sport nor other activities) developing physical harmony.
The purpose of the KulturFabrik project is cultural and educational, but also relaxation and fun, the creation of communication and a community centre where professional art activities will be connected with civic activities, a centre that will be an alternative to the usual established forms of art and social life.

The basis (principle) is motion and freedom. It is about a communicative motion between the different forms of activities, interconnection of disciplines and views that form KulturFabrik as a space expressing a wide spectrum of opinions and views of the surrounding world. What is important is the constant motion (in all the meanings of this word) and change, regular activities alternating various thematic and other focused projects that can expand also to the public space and address as many citizens as possible.
